Orange and Bananas Oil Painting

This is an example of a painting that went wrong and sat on a shelf for a few months.

I recently salvaged it from the brink of the bin and the finished result is not too bad.

What happened is I didn’t plan it out too well in the initial stages and had a jug in the background that never really worked compositionally. It made the picture look crowded and squashed.

I eventually painted it out, reworked the shadows on the bananas and repainted the orange.

Much happier now. I will shortly get round to adding this to the gallery on the main site.
